Boat-tailed Grackle

Description:

These grackles (female in 1st 2 pictures, male in 3rd) were spotted along a pass from the Gulf of Mexico. The female was near an eating area and the male was foraging along the shoreline.

Habitat:

Coasts southeastern US. These were spotted on the FL Gulf coast.

yeah they are hard to care for! but its rewarding when they get released back into the wild! I just released a beautiful European Starling.

I have always found dealing with injured birds very difficult/stressful. They seem so fragile but can bite so hard! Thankfully, we are lucky enough to have an avian hospital/sanctuary to take them in.

that is beautiful, i almost got to rehabilitate on but it died before the person who found it could get to me :(
