Spotting

Description:

The wasp was about 5/8 inch long. The shield bug was almost as long.

Habitat:

Spotted on goldenrod bordering an open field and wetlands.

Notes:

It looks like some sort of wasp carrying a shield bug. Perhaps to put into a larder. It was having no trouble walking with such a large load. It's an amazing feat of natural engineering.

Wow indeed Hema Shah. The shield bug was not only about as long, but had to be more massive. It was quite agile nonetheless.
