Northern Mole Cricket

Neocurtilla hexadactyla

Description:

Cricket with a large, armored thorax, enlarged tarsi and four claw-spines on each, relatively short forewings, and small eyes. 4 cm. in length.

Habitat:

Surrounding area is a mix of weedy fields and deciduous hardwood forest.

Notes:

Landed in a pet food dish on my home porch at 10:00 PM.
