thanks andyarct ,
this heron is a fully grown adult ,not a juvenile
the immature ones are fully streaked and have a plumage like this one when adult

Great! Is that an immature one? Where I live (N. California, U.S.), we have about 6 types of Herons (Egrets & Bitterns are in the Heron family, so I count those too), and at least 3 that I know of are heavily streaked like that when young, but change completely as adults. It's amazing to me how many different species of heron there are throughout the world! I had never heard of this one before,
