Green Elfcup

Chlorociboria aeruginascens

Description:

I often find bluish stained wood caused by Chlorociboria species, but I rarely ever see any fruiting bodies. This was only my second time coming across it despite seeing the blue stained wood all the time in both Maine and Alaska.

Habitat:

Large decaying log on the ground of a forest floor.

Notes:

Mostly basing ID on the laterally attached stipe versus the centrally attached stipe of Chlorociboria aeruginosa.
