Description:

Iridescent blue swallowtail butterfly with black body and small white dots along perimeter of wing.

Habitat:

Oak woodland in close proximity to human habitation.

Notes:

This butterfly was sitting on a leaf and I gently coaxed it into my hand for a clear picture.

Hi Joshua, please do not put "Help me!" as the common name. Simply leaving it like it is, and ticking the box that says help me ID this species is plenty to let people know you need help with the ID. Thanks.

The caterpillars of this species are red or black with tubules that make them look very alien :)
