Description:

White, ridged cap. White stipe. Brown dimple at center of cap.

Habitat:

Growing on a decaying pine trunk That died about 5 years ago.

Notes:

It looks like a Pleated Inkcap [Parasola]. But it's growing on a decaying pine tree. Pleated Inkcaps grow in grassy lawns. Same pine trunk as the four other fungal spottings from july 12.

Thanks for the input Mark. But the two specimens in the upper right of the photo appear to have a ring on the stipe which would be the remnants of a veil. Otherwise I agree with your points.

I agree with Parasola sp. Tom. no veil, no deliquescing and being a saprobe it feeds on decaying matter. I think that tree is on the menu.
