Stick insect

Prisopus berosus

Description:

Found it in the second story balcony, at least three and a half inches, if it was on a tree I would have not seen it but it was in the natural color teak log (yellow) I think Katydid, Cricket, Grasshopper but a bit too large?!

Thank you so much, CindyBinghamKeiser and martinl for the ID, looking at the pictures in the Links, I can see the same Stick Insect in different stages of development but still the same as my spotting. Thank you again.

Thank you, ClaireCrazycatHarris.

Nice spotting. This is definitely a stick insect and phasmids can certainly be quite thick. There are 2000 species and they come in all leafy and sticky shapes and sizes. Here is one spectacular spotting by the hawk-eyes member, BioEu in Mexico

Thank you, CindyBinghamKeiser.
It does look like the one on the link but mine was very thick. Stick insects are slim, aren't they?

I found this but am unable to research further tonight. Hopefully someone else can http://www.flickr.com/photos/dejeuxx/345...

Fantastic! Must be a Tettigoniid. It has a beautiful purple sheen.

Thank you, Luis.
