A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
These photos are of the location where fairy ring Mushrooms come up in a meadow every 2 weeks after a couple of days of rain, they come up every summer for many years I was told by the locals. Photo 2 and photo 3 is the general location of a field that has had these fairy rings for many years.Photo dates about 3 weeks apart. Photo 1 is newest photo. On August 5
Grows in rings, very poisonous, do not eat!!
Picture 2 is a ring and shows the damage that is done to the grass from the lack of nutrients. rings may grow to over 10 metres (33 ft) in diameter, and they become stable over time as the fungus grows and seeks food underground. They are found mainly in forested areas, but also appear in grasslands or rangelands. Fairy rings are detectable by sporocarps in rings or arcs, as well as by a necrotic zone (dead grass), or a ring of dark green grass. If these manifestations are visible a fairy ring fungus is likely to be present in the ring or arc underneath. This fairy ring comes up in the same area every week or 2 after the rain.On the South Downs in southern England, there has formed huge fairy ringsm that also appear to be several hundred years old

Yes!! A great success!! I have learned so much here from you and Caroline and Mitch and Alice! The list is long! But I do enjoy learning about and seeing new interesting organisms from the different regions of the earth. :)
Nice information...you will be curious to know about more organisms then.. I think its a success of Project Noah..!!
Yes, You are right!! One odd thing I noticed was there was a circle of brown mushrooms in another location that only appeared 1 time!! These are always in the same spot in the meadow and get bigger every year according to the local people.
But anyway I am not expert on Fungi.. like Gina and Mich..!!
Aha...my guess is accurate then..!!
