thanks, keith. i thought they were just chubby little pigeons until i saw the flash of crimson. after that, i was captivated

Dont take this the wrong way, but if I saw the bird i'd think it was actually bleeding and injured it looks so real! Amazing bird!

I'm not sure, Saarbrigger, as this one was at a zoo. Apparently, Australia has a breeding programme to boost the threatened population

Hi Lian, IUCN Red List status for the Luzon Bleeding Heart is Near Threatened while another, the Mindoro Bleeding Heart found only in the island of Mindoro also in the Philippines is listed as Critically Endangered.
