Great Blue Heron

Description:

Largest of the the wading birds adults are approximately 48" tall while some may exceed this height. Coloration is gray with a yellow bill. Unlike similar birds of it's kind the Great Blue Heron flies with it's neck in a folded position.

Habitat:

Lakes, rivers, streams and ponds

Notes:

This bird is very vocal with a loud abrasive call when startled or defending it's area.
