Thanks for that! I'm still pretty new to the US & still getting to grips with the flora & fauna here!
The tricolored is smaller than the great blue and a more indigo blue instead of grey blue. It's most similar to the little blue heron except it has a white belly, white line up the neck and white crown. http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/brows...
