Common assassin bug

Zelus luridus

Description:

Green bug with red eyes, two spikes on its "shoulders." The last picture shows a juvenile.

Habitat:

Forest

Notes:

One of the assassin bugs I found this summer while working on a research project. This was the most common one I found, and surprisingly, most of them were on the invasive multiflora rose. Found at Barbara A. Beiser Field Station.
