Haymaker's Mushroom

Panaeolus foenisecii

Description:

light brown, 3" tall

Habitat:

woodchips

Notes:

I spotted huge clumps of these growing in the woodchips under a japanese maple behind our workshop near the Floral Showhouse. Not sure about the species suggestion but believe the genus is correct.

@Darwinist - These mushrooms sprouted up again at my work. They changed color over a few days but were definitely very dark like the link in your suggestion. I've updated it now without a doubt.

I'm not sure about your suggestion. I believe it is probably a species of Panaeolus but P. foenisecii appears to be much darker and usually found in lawns.
