Mayfly

Description:

2cm long body not including 2 tail filaments. brown body. light brown kegs with darker feet

Habitat:

back yard

Notes:

2 tail filaments excludes Families Leptophlebiidae, Ephemerellidae. Two pairs of wings excludes Baetidae. This leaves Heptageniidae and Ephemeridae (National Audubon Society Field Guide). I could not count the segments in the tarsi in my photos to distinguish these two families. According to Kaufman Field Guide there are 21 Families in North America.

With the large hind wing and the rear and middle legs being white that suggest to me that this is very likely (Isonychia bicolor) or sadleri .
