Lupinus bicolor
I love lupine. I hiked through this endless field of lupine near Big Sur, CA. Wikipedia: "It is a showy flowering plant native to western North America from California to British Columbia. It is an annual lupine which often shares a habitat with the California poppy." The bee is a yellow-faced bumble bee (Bombus vosnesenskii).
