Daphnis hypothous
Daphnis hypothous is one of the most beautiful butterfly-like patterned moths on Earth. A moth of the Sphingidae family, known from Africa and Asia. Found it laying still on the 2nd floor tiles, which has almost similar patterns. Tropics, Rainforests.
Please check Dancoucette's page for any discussions about this hawk moth. I created this page because I was so amazed with it's beauty, and luckily able to identify by finding Project Noah. I'm much more a geek than scientist, thank you :)

Beautiful moth and interesting info.
Thank you Mick. I'll fill the descriptions. Rural places has so many unique creatures that I've never seen in my hometown.
Looks like Daphnis hypothous adult - good spotting and work to identify!
Based on resources I read, I think this one is Daphnis hypothous (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daphnis_hyp...), or possibly Daphnis hypothous hypothous (can't find references), not Oleander Hawk Moth (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daphnis_ner...). Anyone?
Just joined ProjectNoah, helps welcome filling out description & habitat. When I saw dandoucette's pics of this moth, I remembered that I took pics of this beautiful moth few months ago when I was in Buru island, Maluku, Indonesia.
