nest and forage in many kinds of wetlands, including swamps, marshes, ponds, streams, lagoons, tidal flats, canals, ditches, fish hatcheries, and flooded fields
This youngster was foraging on a field at the edge of a mangrove instead of in the water of the shoreline as was the adult.
