Waterbuck (male)

Kobus ellipsiprymnus

Description:

The waterbuck (Kobus ellipsiprymnus) is a large antelope found widely in sub-Saharan Africa.

Habitat:

I saw this waterbuck from a boat tour down the Kazinga Channel between Lake George and Lake Edward.

Notes:

The Kazinga Channel in Uganda is a wide, 32-kilometre long natural channel that connects Lake George, (which is to the east) and Lake Edward (which is to the west). This channel is among the most important features in Queen Elizabeth National Park (which is the most well-liked game reserve in Uganda covering an entire land area of 1,978 sq km). The channel has the wonderful view of the most important wildlife ventures within Queen Elizabeth National Park.

It is a Waterbuck, Pam, and a very handsome one at that. They have the most beautiful eyes.
