Bateleur

Terathopius ecaudatus

Description:

The Bateleur is one of Africa's most iconic raptors. Its name is derived from the old French word for a tightrope-walker, in reference to this species' rocking flight action, a result of its broad wings and short tail which forced this bird to rock its wings to change direction.
