Mantis

Mantodea

Description:

Often called Praying Mantis because they often have their front legs folded up in a praying pose. It surprised me when I discovered that their closest relatives are cockroaches and termites, as I think these are quite cute for insects. This one has been hanging around in our garden for several days now and seems to have a real character, he was quite happy to pose on my husbands hand.
