Long Tailed Parakeet (Male)

Psittacula longicauda

Description:

very similar to the female bird however the males are a bit more colourful and have a bright orange beak.

Habitat:

Found up to 300m (984 ft) in various types of habitat, mainly lowland evergreen forest from mangroves, swamp forest, rainforest, oil palm plantations and coconut groves. Also frequents parks and gardens, as well as cultivated areas.

Notes:

Found these Parakeets outside my apartment yesterday. After seeing them flying past everyday at super speed, the decided to finally rest and eat fruit of a tree in our apartment grounds. So I took the opportunity for some photos.

Ha ha Thanks Ann, Yeah I could not believe it when around 20 of them stopped in this tree, you can see the roof of apartment in the background on the first picture. I will hopefully get some better pictures soon, if they decide to land here again. :)
