Description:

Grey headed flying foxes live in large colonies roosting by day and feeding on fruit trees by night. They are called foxes because of their red fur but are fruit bats.

Habitat:

Roosting in treetops in colonies of many thousands, they do serious damage to trees and may kill them with their sharp claws. This colony has 50 000 bats.
