Livingstone's Turaco (Tauraco livingstonii)
This bird was in a kind of bird sanctuary near the airport of Kobe Japan. I believe this species is found in Africa, but it is not native to Japan.

Thanks for the help. I think based on the links you sent & some other pics of same bird I took it is the Livingstone's Turaco (Tauraco livingstonii), which appears to be native to Africa so must have been brought to this sanctuary by humans. thanks!
