Description:

this is a vine plant. the main stem is quite hairy but not prickly. there are 3 leaves per shoot. This one was growing roadside in partial sun around a fence post.

Habitat:

tropical dry forest in NW Costa Rica

It appears to be in the Papillionoidae section of Fabaceae. Being roadside, my first thought was it might be one of the invasive Pueraria or Kudzu, but the seed pods look different from the images I found.
