Dry Leaf Moth

Eublemma perversicolor

Description:

A brown moth (Lepidoptera) that mimics small dry leaf. Wingspan less than 3 cm / 30mm. Thanks to 57Andrew, I now know that the species is Eublemma perversicolor.

Habitat:

Forest hill of Kinabalu National Park, Kundasang, Sabah, Malaysia.

Notes:

Just saw it and took one picture of it. Luckily the photo turned out to be quite good. >>>Map accuracy : 500m diameter.

If you look carefully at the moth, you might see "fingerprints" on the wings.

I think the base background color doesn't matter because many moths vary in shades of color. I think it's a match. I'm still looking for its species name but without luck. Bill Bell didn't know it either. They do not occur in Southern Australia. I think that's the best I can do.

I'm not very good in moths and butterfly but I have to admit that the moth in the link has a lot of little details similar to my spotting.
So they must be very closely related.
