Wanderer

Description:

Pieridae; Pierinae; Pareronia boebera boebera Eschscholtz, 1821. When I first became interested in butterflies, here in the Philippines, I sometimes got confused between the Wanderers (in the Pierinae) and the Tigers (in the Danainae) and although many years have passed, I still find myself double checking to make sure I have it right.

Habitat:

This Wanderer was spotted visiting a Paper Flower (Bougainvillea spectabilis) just by the front door of our house.
