Yellow striped armyworm (2nd instar)

Spodoptera ornithogalli

Was lost on a papaya plant, most likely due to the amount of intense wind and rain over the past couple days. These caterpillars favorite host plants range from various grasses and dandelions, to bell pepper and amaranth plants. This caterpillar was in it's 2nd instar, and had a brown coloration with small yellow stripes going down both sides of the caterpillar.

Habitat:

In my garden, Fort Worth, Texas. (North Texas)
