Siderea thyrsoidea
Also known as Grey-face Moray Eel. This moray has a blotchy outer appearance, which can be dark or light in color. Its distinctive feature are its strikingly white eyes with tiny black dots for pupils. They feed on small fish and invertebrates as well as smaller eels, and can grow to a length of about 65cm.
Found singly in coastal silty harbors, lagoons and shipwrecks. Widespread in the Indo-Pacific region.
