Rusty Tree Frog

Hypsiboas boans


Also known as the Giant Gladiator Tree frog. Large tree frog, about 4" sv length (100mm). Dorsal surface dark brown with darker markings or spots. Distinct spurs on the ankle. Iris is amber in colour. Light striping apparent on hind legs.


Found at night next to a small forest stream on the western edge of the Amazon in Eastern Peru.


There were several individuals present, females a more orange brown colour.
