Lichen Moth

Cyana sp.

Description:

This is bigger than other Lichen Moths. Colour combination: three black dots on each white wing like other Lichen Moths, has red dots on head and bands across wings, but this one has a yellow patch across and towards the end of the wing. Length: 30 mm.

Habitat:

Semi-urban building surrounded by thick forest and bamboos. Cool place.

Notes:

This, I feel, is another gem! Again see the mix of colours but still different from others posted earlier.

Thanks bayucca for the ID and the ref. However, I'm confused, Flickr specimens shown perfectly match with our spotting. The BOLD System specimens with this species have only yellow bands and no red and terminal yellow bands like ours?

Erebidae, Arctiinae, Lithosiini, Nudariina, Cyana cf. subalba. Range is mostly Eastern Asia, so some of the Indian folks should check it.
