Pink Wood Sorrel

Oxalis debilis

Description:

Mounding "shamrock" plant with heart shape leaves in clusters of three. Flowers come in clusters of 5-10, 5 pink petals that lead to a yellowish center. Flowering stem blooms after foliage and is longer than surrounding shamrock stems. Base is a white opaque tuber (carrot shaped but shorter) with extending roots.

Habitat:

Pervasive and considered naturalized throughout the US though it is an invasive species introduced from tropical america. Tolerates just about any type of soil and sunlight.

Notes:

I cannot get rid of it!!! ugh.
