Eastern Collared Lizard

Crotaphytus collaris

Description:

Large, terrestrial lizard with a snout-to-vent length around 6 inches. Agile runners found in natural and man-made rock piles.

Habitat:

Limestone rock piles and among rocks in lake dam.

Notes:

Males assume brilliant blue/green coloring during mating season. The more drably colored female is gravid. This is an oviparous lizard species
