Northern Mockingbird

Mimus polyglottos

Description:

Medium sized songbird, overall gray-brown, paler on the breast and belly, with two white wingbars on each wing. A white patch in each wing is often visible on perched birds, and in flight these become large white flashes.

Habitat:

Can be found through-out the United States and is the Florida State bird. Look for Northern Mockingbirds in towns, suburbs, backyards, parks, forest edges, and open land at low elevations.

Notes:

Just after I took this photo it regurgitated up a seed....

It is due to taking photos of mockingbirds and their chicks that I started to become very interested in birds. :) Love their songs.
