Sarcophyton sp.3
Also known as Mushroom Leather Coral and Leather Umbrella Coral. They produce a toxin to stop other animals from colonizing their areas. They feed on plankton, and grow to a length of about 6cm. Long tentacles are extended during the day and night, especially when there is a flood tide.
Found on coral and rocky reefs, at depths of 10 to 30m. Widespread in the Indo-Pacific region.
