Description:

these caterpillars set up shop in giant cocoon "tents" where they feed. They're often seen making jumpy, synchronized movements. Caterpillars within the cocoon are fuzzy and generally cream colored.

Habitat:

Sweet Gum Tree, West Central GA

Notes:

Considered unsightly and pests by some.
