Alstroemeria exerens

Description:

Sinónimos: Alstroemeria diazii, Alstroemeria pallens.
A diferencia de A. pallida, la mancha amarilla ubicada en los tépalos superiores (guía de néctar putativa) llega hasta su base.
Las poblaciones de A. exerens florecen entre diciembre y enero, y fructifican/dispersan entre Febrero y Marzo.
Las semillas son dispersadas con el fruto que es una cápsula de color café-purpúreo de 1,3-1,7cm. Al estar maduro, explota liberando semillas redondas de 3-4mm.

This is a high mountain beautiful Alstroemeria. It is rather low, but has huge flowers, either pink or whitish.
A telling difference with the A. pallida, is the yellow marking in the superior tepals, reaches to their base.
A. exerens usually flowers between December and January, and seed/disperse between February and March.

Habitat:

Alstroemeria exerens se distribuye en Los Andes de Chile desde Farellones (33º18' S) hasta la Laguna del Maule (36º04'). Se encuentra por sobre los 1.900 m s.n.m. y hasta los 2.700 m s.n.m.
Estas fueron encontradas a unos 2850 msnm cerca del humedal de La Parva.

It's distributed in the Andes range, from Farellones (33º18' S) to Laguna del Maule (36º04'). Usually above 1900 m s.n.m. and up to 2700 m s.n.m.
These particular group where found at about 2850 msnm.
Grows at high altitude close to the timber line, and above.
Watering conditions:
Humid areas, with almost constant rainfall. Short dry periods are possible (generally not longer than 1 month).
Light conditions:
Some shadow. Some protection against direct sunlight, some shadow from vegetation, filtering about 20 - 40 % of light.
