Black-capped Chickadee

Description:

This pretty little bird has a black cap and throat, white cheeks and is gray above and white below with rusty flanks. Body length is 12–15 cm (4.7–5.9 in).

Habitat:

Black-capped chickadees prefer mixed hardwood/conifer and deciduous forests. They are also found in suburban wooded yards and city parks.

I'm not sure if it's homemade or not. Some avid local birders have put out a number of feeders, including these suet blocks, in a place called Sax-Zim Bog. It's a fantastic northern winter birding spot and the feeders bring in lots of birds.
