The seeds inside are very beautiful but the skin is also the source of the poison Ricin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castor_oil_...

Hi Luis, that image clearly shows the serrated leaves which means this isn't Achiote. I'll look at one of my reference books tomorrow and see what I can find. Have a good night.

This reminds me of Achiote (Bixa Orellana) but your leaves look serrated, not smooth. Were there any flowers on it?
