Potter Wasp's Pot

Description:

I marvel at the effort it must have taken the mother wasp to collect the mud..one jawful at a time and to fashion it so nicely into a perfect pot. She buzzes over the mud and that helps to liquefy it!! She knows the fundamentals of physics without reading a book....She even leaves behind provisions in the pot . The pot is open, so the baby wasp must have left.

Habitat:

Kayaler bagan or Kayal's garden is now a bird sanctuary in the heart of Kolkata city. Although called a garden, it is not a landscaped area with only garden varieties...rather everything growing wild is preserved.Old, epiphyte laden trees rub branches with bamboo groves and wild vines trail all over . So called weeds flourish. It is also called Chintamani Kar Bird Sanctuary. ...a 17 acre small enclosed area. The pot was stuck on the door of the ladies toilet!!
