Description:

It is the biggest pigeon in Spain. Easy to identify due to the white on his neck and wings, dark band in the tail, also visible in flight. Young ones are darker without white at the neck. The call is a coo-coo-coo. Flight straight and quick. It takes off with a loud clattering during take off. The display flight is very distinctive strong flapping rising up and gliding down with stiff wings.

Evergreen oak and pine tree forest. Dehesa de Valdelatas
