Halpe luteisquama

Description:

Hesperiidae; Hesperiinae; Halpe luteisquama Mabille 1876. "Halpe is a genus of grass skippers in the family Hesperiidae. It is found in the Indomalayan realm." Wikipedia. This Wiki article goes on to list the species of the Genus: Halpe and Halpe luteisquama is included and shown as present in Philippines. Thank you Wiki.

Habitat:

Spotted on Tropical Whiteweed (Ageratum conyzoides) growing at the conjunction of four rice fields This Tropical Whiteweed seems to be extremely popular amongst many butterflies in our area, and Hesperiidae spp. find it irresistible. They are on and around this particular plant throughout most of the year.

Notes:

On comparison with pictures in Philippine Lepidoptera, my specimen is a male.
