Blue Ridge Two-lined Salamander

Eurycea wilderae

Description:

This yellow guy has dark spots and stripes down his back. He looks very much like a ripe banana. This particular one was about 4-5" long. He has webbed feet with knobby toes. My daughter stroked his back and found him a little slimy.

Habitat:

Hiding in decaying leaves on top of a small mountain in East Tennessee.

Notes:

My daughter and I have named this guy a new name: the bananamander.
