Grey Glassy Tiger

Ideopsis juventa manillana

Description:

Nymphalidae; Danainae; Danaini; Ideopsis juventa manillana Moore, 1883. This butterfly is endemic to the Province of Luzon in the Philippines. There were many of them fluttering in and out of the foliage and they all appeared to be in pristine condition. So, I think they had probably emerged from their pupae yesterday morning, perhaps only two or three hours before I saw them.

Habitat:

I spotted these Grey Glassy Tigers in foliage along the side of a small track, leading up into nearby hills.
