California Towhee

Melozone crissalis

Description:

I think that it's a California Towhee? I'm not sure though and I brightened the image to see it better because originally found this bird at dusk. It's big, fat, and brown in color, and the tail is fairly long.

Habitat:

California chaparral.

Shape looks good for a towhee, hard to be positive from the photo though!
