Anser caerulescens
Possibly hundreds of Snow geese with several Trumpeter swans in the mix. I often find these two different species co-existing here in western Washington.
Farm field near Carnation, Washington.

Thanks so much Neil. I can only imagine what it is like for the farmers that live their.
Congratulations, Brian. That is a wonderful spotting. I can imagine it would have been quite noisy too.

Thank you Daniele for making this SOTD and thank you Mark and Mauna for your kind words. This was one of those scenes when pictures really don't do justice - there was geese and swans everywhere!
I like the third shot! Congrats, Brian!
Wonderful sight. Congrats Brian.
What a fantastic group shot! Congratulations Brian, this great series is our Spotting of the Day:
"Dozens of wintering snow geese (Anser caerulescens) feed on leftover grains in a farm field in our Spotting of the Day! Snow geese migrate from far north to spend winter months in warmer parts of North America. In northwest Washington state they can be seen arriving by the tens of thousands, accompanied by hundreds of trumpeters swans (Cygnus buccinator). Can you spot the few swans in this image?"
