Description:

Philaethria is a genus of New World butterflies of the subfamily Heliconiinae in the family Nymphalidae. Philaethria are often confused with Siproeta stelenes. They have similar coloration, but their wing shapes are different.

Habitat:

Yours is Philaethria diatonica. Philaethria dido is southwards from Panama and most parts of South America, together with other species from Philaethria.
