Rose-ringed Parakeet

Psittacula krameri

Description:

Green parakeets about a 30 cm in length (possibly longer, I couldn't get too close) with a red ring around their necks, giving their heads the unmistakable look of a battle helmet.

Habitat:

These parakeets were all see in the immediate vicinity of the Taj Mahal - in the trees of the gardens around the building, or climbing, hopping, or burrowing into the entry buildings around the park.
