Thanks for the ID Lauren. These little guys were about 15' up in the roof of a ruined temple and by the smell of guano this was a regular roost!

Congratulations, your great series has earned you Spotting of the Day! European hedgehogs were introduced to New Zealand by colonists in the 1870s to remind them of their homeland. The species has thrived and spread throughout the country, and may have contributed to the decline and extinction of up to fifteen bird species as their diet includes eggs and chicks of ground nesting birds.
