A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Not sure what you mean. Lichen are a composite of fungi with a photosynthetic partner, usually algae or cyanobacteria. In terms of scientific classification and naming lichen are in kingdom Fungi.
You can change the category to Fungi. All lichen are classified as fungi.
Thanks. I can't escape them, they're everywhere here.
Cicada nymph shed skin, Tibicen sp.
That is a very fat squirrel.
I finally have my new system up and running and can edit once more. Thought I'd start with the only unknown animal photo I have at the moment.
If it was taken in Bryce Canyon, Utah, it is most likely a Least Chipmunk. Gray Collared Chipmunks are only found in Arizona and New Mexico. The colouration isn't right for an Uinta Chipmunk.
Can you please correct your map location? It will help to identify the species.
Looks like a European Mantis, introduced in the US.
